If you think you’ve hopelessly waterlogged a plant, try these tips:

Tip the plant on its side for a few minutes to allow the water to drain out.
Cover the top of the soil with paper towels to absorb the extra moisture. Replace them with dry paper towels when they become saturated.
If the plant starts to wilt or lose its leaves, repot it right away with fresh soil into a container that has good drainage.

During the summer months, your green plants need more water, just as your fresh flowers do. We are giving our green and blooming plants a drink about every 3-4 days. Indoor plants with drainage you can soak or heavily water with a can, and let it drain in the sink (never let your plants sit in standing water for any lengthy period of time). For planter gardens and plants without drainage, a good trick is to put a handful of ice cubes in them and let the ice melt, this will help you not over water.
